Some SSDs have had their full-disk encryption password be 32 NULL bytes, no matter your input 🤦♂️ https://www.ru.nl/publish/pages/909282/draft-paper.pdf (PDF) #encryption #fail https://t.co/1XCQWplJv7
it's weird how "low-poly" can both mean "the triangles are flat shaded and showing" and "doing literally everything in my power to make it appear that the very large triangles are absolutely not showing"
Users are more aware of, and concerned about, the harms of pervasive tracking than ever before. So why does Google still build Chrome as if it needs to vacuum up everything it can about your online activities? https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2018/11/google-chromes-users-take-back-seat-its-bottom-line source: https://twitter.com/eff/status/1059213198174367747
so interesting few facts about newjack.city
The instance is being fronted by Cloudflare but due to the nature of federation, the source IP of their origin server is revealed in logs:
126.96.36.199 - - [03/Nov/2018:19:54:47 +0000] "POST /users/staticsafe/inbox HTTP/1.1" 202 36 "-" "http.rb/3.3.0 (Mastodon/2.6.1; +https://newjack.city/)"
That is a Comcast residential IP in Troutdale, Oregon, USA. Traceroute/mtr and the last few hops reveal that bit.

What do Epic Games sending itself a takedown, Sony claiming it owns Bach, and romance authors arguing about who owns the word "cocky" have in common? They're all entries in our Takedown Hall of Shame https://www.eff.org/takedowns source: https://twitter.com/eff/status/1058834201036779521
I made something for Mastodon: A gallery mini-app.
You can simply drop it in your Mastodon server's public folder, and it will show images from your server in a mosaic grid with infinite scroll. Supports some configuration as well, e.g. whether to limit it to only local images, or a specific hashtag, or which server to fetch from.

The only time I went outside all day I ran into a lady in a Statue of Liberty costume with a sign that said "happy MAGA day! Free hugs!” so I very sweetly said, "what a cool and racist sign you have there! Please get out of my town!" to her, which she didn't love
When I started going to college, I majored in deaf studies. I wanted to learn sign language and become an interpreter. However, I wasn't very good at it. So I changed majors and got an associates in business, then transferred to a 4 year university and now I'm working on my bachelors in social work.
My mom is hard of hearing and that why I wanted to learn to sign, so I do still want to learn some day
