What I find problematic: people who supposedly support the open, distributed, indie web but who continue to be active on Twitter and eschew Mastadon/the fedivererse because it's not decentralized enough or something? Live what you preach and start supporting the real distributed social web, please. Rant over.
I want to experience Mastodon at 1 million active users (6x more than now)
Want to help Mastodon grow?
Frame a picture of the Mastodon logo, put it on your or someone else's grandma's coffee table among all the photos of your relatives! Your grandma won't notice it there, but all your aunts and uncles will be curious. They'll wonder who is this new relative?
In an attempt to research this weird looking new relative, they will stumbled upon the register page, and if there's anything your aunt and uncle is good at, it's signing up to random webpages. Bam! 💥 New user!
For reference, here's that 12" 1080p display casing with a raspberry pi 2 and a raspberry pi 0w inside for...scale?

another cooking post...
I do fruit tarts. This one had an all stone-ground wholemeal flour base and a layer of our jam, then all the fruits I could find. Sliced apple, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and more apple on top. Only the apple was fresh- all else was frozen from earlier in the summer. I find strawberries are EXCELLENT to cook with - sure they go mushy, but as far as taste. Yum-taste! (as my smallest used to say) :)
This was Saturday lunch's pudding. #cooking
What comforts me just a tad is that book marketing (outside of non-fiction self-published kindle sales) is reasonably difficult to find concrete info about. On the off chance anyone is interested...
Here's a case study involving Little Fires Everywhere and how it was marketed:

Last cooking post for now... ;)
these profiteroles are not so glam, but I really like grandma's hand in the background. We eat with the generation above and below several times a week. (that's something I am grateful my children have grown up with. I certainly did not.) Back to the photo... These are easy to make, just flour, butter, water, eggs (no other raising agents), and a strong arm to stir vigorously to the right consistency with a wooden spoon. #cooking

I'm afraid that #solarpunk is too western, white and focused on fiction to make a change. People prefer fetishizing #burningman aesthetics to noticing the real changemakers around the world.
Have you heard about http://globalinnovationgathering.org ? Its a network of hackers from Africa, Middle East, South America and Southeast Asia. They do things some solarpunk writers only imagine, but there is little interest in that in the West.
Why not start #SolarpunkReporting ?
